Cherry juice.
Any stone fruit.
Turmeric.
None of those things work. If you had luck with it, it was purely a placebo. Sour Cherry juice has been not been shown to lower uric acid levels all that much, if at all. Just spend the 15 bucks a month, get an Rx, and be done with it.

LIFE CHANGING
I am 76 years old and had my first gout attack in 1979 on the same night my father did. Mine went relatively untreated except for occasional flareups until 2015, largely because most doctors don’t know anything about gout or how to treat it. Left untreated, it causes large lumps in the soft tissue of the elbows, feet hands and other places. All of which are unsightly and sometimes very painful.
I found a doctor in Hopkinsville, Kentucky that suffered from Gouty Arthritis and also finally found a way to almost completely prevent the flareups. That method was to take 300 mg of Allopurinol daily to keep the uric acid in my system below a .6 .
What I always suspected about Gout being hereditary is pretty much proven now (all of my 8 siblings have various symptoms).
