Why is anyone required to renew their DL if all the information is the same? Same with registering the same car over and over and over. If the ownership and address information are all the same, why is this endless redundancy required?

Arizona agrees, and the license doesn't have to be renewed until you hit 65 (vision check? Update photo?)
In Maricopa County, AZ registration has more to do with forcing emissions testing and collecting money annually/bi-annually.

Ohio require the DL every 4 years, but you can do it by mail after 4 years. On the 8th year you have to get a new photo and an eye test.
You can also renew registration online for multiple years, but since there is no refund if you use less (move out of state, reduce number of vehicles, change vehicle class, etc.) I've only done it one year at a time.
