"Donna Summer was inducted into the R&R HOF before both Yes and the Moody Blues...think about that"

That's why I stopped watching it years ago. When they started including Blues, R&B, Rap. Those black artists are not R&R, except for Chuck Berry and Little Richard, and some songs by some black groups.

Well at least “Hot Stuff” had a good guitar solo, turns out it was Jeff Skunk Baxter who did the solo.

The whole R & R HOF is a joke. Besides screwing over a lot of great names/bands, the actual “museum” in Cleveland Ohio was an even bigger joke. We visited there maybe 6 or 8 years ago. What a waste of time, money and effort.

Peter Grant did not rip off his guitarists’ songwriting royalties. Ozzy and Sharon did.

I was in Nashville last week and went to the Country Music Hall of Fame, it’s much, much better than the RRHOF.

That’s a good point, he certainly made sure Zep got the money.

There’s classic footage of Grant going into record stores looking for Zeppelin bootlegs.

I would probably enjoy the Country Music Hall of Fame a lot more even though I am rock fan.

Yep, I’m not even that big of a country music fan, myself.

Or Steppenwolf.

The only plausible explanation for the HOF leaving some of these stalwarts behind is so that they can have some noteworthy names to induct in the future.

What kind of HOF ceremony would you have if inductees were limited to the likes of Hanson, Justin Bieber and Freddie and the Dreamers?

Critics absolutely hated Sabbath. If and when they did get played on the radio, its was always 2 songs, Paranoid and Iron Man. Warner Brothers didn’t “promote “them very much. Unless you were a hardcore fan, nobody really knew the members names. When Randy Rhoads was called aand asked if he wanted to auditiion for Ozzy in 1979, Rhoads asked “WHO?”...they had to explain who Osbourne was. Rhoads at first politlely declined the offer...he HATED Sabbath. You are right, they were a “cult” band. You either loved em or hated them.

Dave Matthews has fans who stuffed the fan ballot box. He’s a complete joke. Two songs from the ‘90s that no one cares about in 2024 puts you in the rock hall? He’s the Kamala of rock, literally dumping his s*** on the unsuspecting public.

I took my sons and grandson to Nashville around ten years ago. It was the year the Zags played Tennessee. Best road trip ever, didn't have to worry about mom/wife/grandma for 4 days. Nana was overly worried about the grandson, temps were in the teens, and we did a lot of walking.

The kid was fine...on the third day, I asked him how he liked being away from his mother and grandmother. He let loose with a spirited, "YEAAAAHHH!"

We all enjoyed the Country Music HOF. One of my favorite sections was on the origins of country/rock, learned a lot about Gram Parsons, and his influence.

My grandson was plucked from the crowd for halftime entertainment. A slam dunk "contest" with a few other boys, in front of 13,000 people.

kind of ironic...Randy was inducted 2 years ago for “Musical Excellence”....and boy, was he musically excellent. To me, he’s the greatest guitarist i ever saw and heard...and other than Hendrix, i saw em all in their prime. The guy had it all.

I must admit, the only thing I knew about Sabbath came from a Cheech and Chong routine.

“Well once I played Black Sabbath at 78 speed, man.”

“And then what happened?”

“I saw God!”

“You saw God, well that sounds like true spiritual enlightenment to me, Bob.”

The Hall has been a joke since they picked Cleveland over Philadelphia.

Sonny Bono was more involved in R&R than Cher, he worked for Phil Spector and produced the Sonny & Cher songs.

In the performer category, this year’s inductees are Mary J. Blige, Cher, Dave Matthews Band, Foreigner, Peter Frampton, Kool & The Gang, Ozzy Osbourne and A Tribe Called Quest.

Jimmy Buffett, MC5, Dionne Warwick and Norman Whitfield were selected as the recipients for the Musical Excellence Award.

What is the difference between these two categories? Can you win in both?

Anyway, the R&R HOF blew it completely by taking 1 year too long to induct the great MC5. The two remaining members both died in the last year. It wouid have meant so much more for them to be there than it will with the empty stage.

Right now it's time to:

Kick out the Jams ...

Kool & The Gang are ok also.

Truth is the Rock HOF is running out artists worthy of being inducted.
