Comedian Andrew Schulz has accused the Brooklyn Academy of Music of pulling the plug on the taping of his scheduled stand-up special just hours after he hosted former President Donald Trump on his podcast.
The Big Apple-based comic said he had booked shows at BAM over a month ago — but learned he was no longer welcome there just a week before tickets were due to go on sale.
“Three and a half hours after the [Trump] interview, they canceled the shows,” Schulz, 40, said Wednesday on his popular podcast, “Flagrant.”

Schulz shared an email from BAM telling him that his November shows had been canceled — with only a vague explanation: “After some internal discussions with leadership, it was decided that BAM is not the right fit for this show at this time.”

Schulz said he doesn’t know for certain that it was based on his Trump interview, “But the day before it came out we were ready to go and we were going on sale this week,” he said.
“We’ve had this venue locked in for … a month now. It’s not like we might do it here — It’s booked, it’s ready to go, we’re going on sale this week,” he added.
A producer of the “Flagrant” podcast speculated that it could not have been over Schulz’s comedy because venue leadership had reviewed his planned material and been “touched” by it.

sounds like something they would do
liberals would put us all in concentration camps if they could. Don’t let them. Vote Trump and vote Republican.
Their culture is dying on the vine. To hell with the marxo-fascists.
My guess is that they receive federal funds in some capacity. If so then those funds should be canceled.
How is that not breach of contract?
OK, how many federal dollars (that’s yours and mine, folks) go to support BAM? Include them in the great NPR defunding!
Whatever the reason, they did good pulling the plug. The guy isn’t funny.
