Mystery drones flew over US base 2 days ago

New details are emerging about drones that flew over U.S. military bases last year, though there is still no explanation for where they came from.

...

Exclusive video given to NewsNation by someone who lives near the base shows lights in the sky with the person who took the video describing the drones being the size of cars. Some of the new reporting has corroborated that description.

According to The Wall Street Journal’s reporting, Pentagon officials who have seen the drones in person say they were about 20 feet long, traveling at around 100 mph or faster and at an altitude of 3,000 to 4,000 feet.

Some speculate that the drones were not part of intelligence-gathering efforts by a foreign adversary like China or Russia, in part because they were out in the open with no apparent effort to hide them.

Former Air Force pilot Ryan Graves, an advocate for pilots who have seen UAPs, told NewsNation the objects don’t fit usual patterns.

Wouldn’t that airspace normally be closed to non-US military official use? And a person with such an aircraft for personal private use would be aware of where it was OK to fly it and not?

It’s pretty surprising to me that our military and our intelligence agencies weren’t diverse enough to prevent this from happening.

Absolutely, your space above all US military installations is considered restricted airspace. It is charted as that.

100 mph is a slow Cessna.

From the telegraph.co.uk: They were flying at around 100mph at 3,000 to 4,000 feet with witnesses saying they sounded like a parade of lawnmowers. The incursion triggered two weeks of meetings at the White House involving officials from the Pentagon, including staff from its UFO office and the FBI. Under federal law, the military is only allowed to shoot down drones over military bases if they pose a direct threat.

You cannot really hide overflights of drones.

A great big "F-U" from China?

Of course these were efforts by a foreign government. You don't just buy 20-foot drone aircraft at a model shop.

Error in title. “2 days ago” shouldn’t be in title. I am posting on phone & made a cut & paste error by accidently copying info on article date.

Sorry.

These are not some kids drones that are restricted to a maximum 400’ altitude. Drones of this size and in swarms are a likely national security threat and should have been shot down. Drones of this size and altitude also pose a threat to aviation …so where is the FAA? These incidents are far too similar to the Chinese spy balloon that was allowed to traverse the entire country without any response from the Biden Administration.

The USA is the only one with this level of technology. I believe they are testing it on our own bases.

20 ft long and lolly gagging along at 100mph. If the military bases were wanting them shot down it wouldn’t have been difficult. 🙄. They know where these drones are coming from.

It is in an MOA and Not restricted airspace, anyone can fly through it, you still need to stay above their ATA which is 3000 feet above ground within 3 or 5 miles, I forget
