When was the first Presidential election that the women's vote affected the outcome? I don't know when the pollsters started paying attention to the differences between how men voted and how women voted. Women have had the vote nationally since 1920. Maybe in 1960 they made a difference by voting more for Kennedy than men did. Just guessing...but Kennedy was generally seen as better looking than Nixon.
It was the male vote that elected JFK, the female majority went for Eisenhower’s veep.
