With you on waiting for more information, especially for the reason you cite on the multiple types of welds and other variables. I have welded in the construction industry yet shipbuilding is another animal entirely. Also, a lot of these welds are probably done automatically rather than with a welder under a hood as we normally think of it when someone says “welding”. Yet, the automation machine processes still require a qualified human to set up & another to inspect the work.
