This is going to be an interesting thread.
Not really. Its pretty much the same thread on repeat since the beginning. Liquor, drugs, tobacco, whatever. Cultists show up making bizarre claims followed by the emotionally maladjusted blaming objects then the rest of us make fun of them. The only difference is that WHO has blessed the self appointed moral crusaders to do their bidding.
Anybody who says alcohol is good or bad will not know what they are talking about, because there is no way to know in specific cases. Alcohol profoundly affects the GI biota, killing some microbes, and opening the door for others to dominate the ecosystem.
But that ecosystem is different in everybody, and even if it were the same, people can respond differently to the same microbe down there.
Some people will have alcohol and see it kill back harmful alcohol-sensitive microbes, and they will get sharper, more energetic, less inflamed. And some people will see the opposite, as it kills back microbes which were helping them.
Anyone who gives a one-size-fits-all answer is talking out of their ass.
The only way to know what it does is to do an experiment on yourself, and try it, and try removing it, and see if you are better one way or another. And you may find your best program is to do it for a few days, and take a week off.
There is no way to say without trying it.
