Nice. I like the openness of the layout.
I like that the “Stars” of the painting are forms of plant like, not the people who have invaded in, not the usual animals who have wandered by, looking for food.
Very little shadowing seen. Maybe it was Brunch Hour, between 10 and 1pm.

The warm violet in foreground pulls me into the picture, but it’s chromatic power is held in check by the Tufts of New green grass on the left.

Thank you.

You can’t tell but that painting is of a view on the top of a little mountain. That stony area is literally the top of the mountain, the vista beyond is what is seen from there.

Not to bore you but this is how I got that image for the painting:

“On a beautiful sunny day here in Phoenix my husband and I took a drive out to Fountain Hills for lunch. On the way up the Beeline Highway, which edges a large expanse of desert I spotted a pullover where what I thought was a small mountain. This is on The Salt River Pima–Maricopa Indian Community comprises two distinct Native American tribes—the Pima and the Maricopa —many of whom were originally part of the Halchidhoma tribe. The community was permanently created by an Executive Order of US President Rutherford B. Hayes on June 14th, 1879. We pulled over.

A little wire fence bordered off the small mountain and I scooted under it to climb the small mountain and get a good photo of the land stretching outwards. The ‘little mountain’ was not as little as it looked and really took the wind out of my sails but as I climbed upwards and reached the leveling off part it went up again from there. Resolved to see the top of the mountain I pushed on and breathlessly reached the top where I saw it indeed leveled off kind of flat with a crop of stones of all sizes and some Cholla joyfully basking in it’s glory in the sun, thriving.

I chose this to become my painting, Golden Cholla”.

As I scanned through looking for yours, I noticed all these works are extremely vivid and highly detailed. You even got the cactus stickers! I cannot express how excellent all of this art is as well as Lee Martell did but I can +10 it.
