👍👍
Agree.
I’ve taken the ride to the Mollie mine. Jammed in that elevator was very claustrophobic. For a couple minutes.
Then we were in a big mine tunnel, 1,000’ below ground. Nice tour. About an hour later, we were back on the elevator heading back to God’s green earth and the embrace of Sol.
This is an amazing and terrifying tour. Best for young adventure travelers.
It sounds like something broke and dropped the passengers down to the 500’ mark, where they stop for a moment to show complete darkness. I can easily see someone in poor health having a heart attack and dying. And then falling on kids while everyone is freaking out.
The people ‘stranded’ down below were probably the previous tour group waiting to go back up.
Been there. Done that. Checked the block. Mrs. Kit and I are planning an overnight up in Cripple Creek for a drive to see the fall leaves. Don’t plan on going down into the Mollie Kathleen again.
100 feet or 1000 feet, what difference does it make?
It wasn’t a cave in. It is a problem with the elevator.
Everyone is out now and they used said elevator to get out.
HYPE, HYPE, HYPE.
A tourist “trap” literally.
