The Grand opening of the Dome was August 3, 1975. That first concert billed as “The Pride of Dixie” included The Allman Brothers Band with Gregg Allman’s newlywed Cher along with the Marshall Tucker Band, Wet Willie and The Charlie Daniels Band with several others.
