I don’t eat a lot of chicken wings, but yesterday, I had some at I Got My Sound, a Korean chicken shack in Fullerton, Calif. This may not be for everyone, especially those who like mild, subtle flavors and eschew bold cuisines that get in your face. These wings are flavored with Szechuan peppercorns, which are not related to black peppercorns but are from a variety of ash tree that grows in the foothills of the Himalayas. They are very spicy and cause your lips and tongue to become somewhat numb, but they are loaded with antioxidants.
I will be going back.
Korean wings are the worst. Not from the heat, but all of the bread on them. Disgusting.
Now that sounds pretty tasty, I wish there was one by me.
