YouTube is full of videos where the creator records strangers and is paid for the video based on viewership. The creators do not have to have permission just because they get paid. No expectation of privacy in public.
It’s not about privacy. It’s about someone using your image to make money. We are not talking about someone doing street photography for the local paper. In that case you are correct. But to specifically use the image/video to post to a commercial site with the intent to monetize it…that is something I would clear with a lawyer first.
