I had an 82 Datsun truck.
You could not break it. Even had a gas tank drain valve. Yep, had to use it.
Lost a belt in mid-summer on Maricopa Rd. Powered crank shaft. I moved it from water pump to crank shaft.
Pulled over every 1000yds as the temp gauge was hard red.
After 3 stops the water valve opened and Chandler here I come. the gauge started going back down after 3/4 hot.
Didn’t need the pump to get home.
That little truck had 3 belts. I needed 2. Yes it was 110 outside.

i still have an 81 datsun 620 pickup ... 75,000 miles ... supposedly it’s a collector’s item ...
Mine dropped a valve seat (Al heads pressed in seats). Only transport I could afford so I drove it for a couple months on 3 cylinders until I found a replacement head. 45 miles each way to work too. Good times. 😂👍
