Perhaps one of the main reasons people choose to not have children is because they fear of having to grow up. If you’re a normal human being with a sense of responsibility, having children forces you to have to behave like a mature adult and not like a carefree college student.

My grandson was bit loose and fancy free until he met a girl in the spring, then she moved down here and now they find out they’re going to have a baby. They’re both very happy but my grandson is now realizing that he’s going to have to get a real job. He has a 3-month a year job which is very lucrative but not for a family. When he wasn’t traveling around the other nine months hanging out hunting and fishing with his friends all over the country he still lived with his parents at 28 years old.

And yes, it does inforce a degree of responsible maturity on a person.

So true! Biggest thing I learned raising kids was patience. And appreciation....
