NOBODY but The Lord Himself can restore that area before the election. One of the largest relief organizations and certainly the most knowledgeable and reliable in the world can't fix it in quick order. Franklin Graham was on FOX NEWS giving a indepth report on conditions. This will take massive help from within the communities and those outside as well. Graham runs SAMARITAN'S PURSE the number one responder in disaster relief.

That said I saw a NCDOT press release earlier today that stated the highway and roads to several towns including communities like Bat Cave was underway. My guess would be the less traffic the likely volunteers and DOT have to dodge the faster they can work.

A lot of people including ones who think for example US 441 across the Smoky Mountains is a truck route resulted in the road being closed nightly. They are also trying to use The Dragon.

Volunteers from all over the country are on scene and can do more left alone than having a DC LIB breathing down their backs saying you can't do this or that. It may not look pretty at first but they are the best hope for getting things functional so things can then be restored permanently. This is not an election issue this is an American issue.
