NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Sedrick Alexander ran for two touchdowns, Randon Fontenette scored on a Pick-6 and Diego Pavia outplayed Heisman Trophy candidate Jalen Milroe as Vanderbilt stunned Alabama 40-35 Saturday for the Commodores' first win over the nation's top-ranked team.
Vanderbilt (3-2, 1-1) was 0-60 all-time vs. AP Top-5 teams before Saturday, the longest such streak in the Poll Era (since 1936). The Commodores hadn't beaten Alabama on the field in 40 years, but they snapped a 23-game skid by making big play after big play to give coach Clark Lea his alma mater's biggest win ever.

I think the future is that a National Champion may lose 2 or even 3 games.
So basically it resembles NFL football now.
I think that could happen now. So much parity.
When Tennessee went up 14-3, I thought it was over. But Arkansas hung in there.
The Commodores haven’t been this good since Lionel Richie was with them.
Ark beat #4 Tennessee. They were 4-0.
Best part was they went all the way downtown with them. I’m guessing that’s a couple of miles.
I had 5 heart attacks in the last 1:17
So many opportunities missed. Should have had at least 13 more points.
Exactly. The offensive calls are sporadic. I thought Petrino was a genius. I’ve always hated him.
Blew $2000 on 2011 Sugar Bowl tickets.
Lol! Perfect!
Michigan too. 1, 4, 8, 19, 11 all lose.
Cal just had a pick six over Miami. 28-10 now. I think I’ll try to go to sleep, and check the late scores in the morning.
I can’t remember when I’ve had such a fun Saturday. Maybe it was last week but that seems like a long time ago now.
8 is still playing but it’s not looking good for them.
Still time
Another touchdown for Cal. My BIL must be so sad.
38-18 fourth quarter.
Dang, so close.
lol I saw that, when the teleprompter went down she had to ad lib, not her strong suit. Surprised at that moment we didn’t “learn” she was raised middle class and loves lawns…, but the underdog thing I think that was a Ali of the truth as her “massive” brain tried to put words together.
Much like the SNL Skit and the news teleprompters went down and they went ferrel within minutes
Side note. Many claimed obama away a great orator, he was not and when TOTUS went down or he had to speak off the cuff he became a babbling fool . Er, uh, um….
As an Ohio State fan, I too have my concerns.
On paper they are impressive, but I haven’t seen them really put things together esp against less talented teams as they should on paper
The defense is doing well, offensive turnovers did not become points and then defense in second half came up with the turnovers that the offense capitalized on.
Getting all those stars to play as a team will be key.
Iowa was no slouch and I think OSU is gelling, but if they had played a ranked team up to this point I am not sure they would have won
Good Omen ..all these also rans beating up on the usual corporate big money favorites. Perhaps Trump scores big in the elections and we take the senate and keep the house! Las Vegas big money odds makers must be crapping their shorts.
This is no longer a Ryan Day team. Thank God.
Chip Kelly and Jim Knowles compliment each other very well.
There is an aggressiveness not seen under Day.
Balanced attack on Offense and a Good QB in Howard so far.
Defense playing will abandon.
Liking what I’m seeing.
O-H!!
