Auroras rarely are visible in the USA. Except Alaska. But never where I live. I've never been to Europe either. I think I'll survive.

No, we see them here 46.5°N - WA, fairly often but the key is to be where there is absolutely no skyglow from human activity to the north. If there’s any you won’t see them.
