You are welcome. I've been meaning to post about this for a long time, and I finally decided to do it. I'm not sure I came up with the best words to describe the idea, but I think I got the point across to most people.

And this is exactly how we should always approach a discussion. One of the troubles I find with this approach is that a lot of people often don't have good reasons for their different viewpoint. Sometimes people believe things because it's "common wisdom", or because they have been misled by certain sources of information that they trusted to inform them accurately.
The advantage of discussion is that sometimes fallacious ideas can be unwound and corrected.
