“the crew rolled up to the stores on bicycles during the evening hours “
Why didn’t the parents know where they were and what they were doing? I guarantee that my parents knew exactly where we were at any minute of any day.

My parents (Mom) never knew where my two brothers and I were at night when I was 13, she had to be at work. But none of us ever robbed anyone.

Wow, that was
not true for us...late 50s/early 60s. Bicycles took us around a large part of the small town. Approx. 10,000
Of course, no one was getting robbed or beaten/harrassed, etc. Different times... Being bad was chewing gum or spit balls in school & juvenile pranks. Being really bad was smoking cigarettes.
