The following MSN article at the link claims to fact check the 'rumor' about NC State Police arresting Feds blocking supply/rescue efforts. It's MSN, so there's that.
The article says there isn't a 'state police' in NC, but there is a NC Highway Patrol, and that they hadn't received such orders. Looks like MSM is identifying those on X.com whom they are going to target latter for 'false information' accusations. There are a few X posts at the link -X in the crosshairs? Excerpt below link:

Isn't the highway patrol also called the state police, though?

And the beginning of every episode of the old series Highway Patrol, the announcer says this: "Whenever the laws of any state are broken, a duly authorized organization swings into action. It may be called the state troopers, militia, the rangers, or the highway patrol."

(I watch a few episodes every once in a while and took it that state troopers meant state police.)

Granted, the old HP series started 69 years ago (1955 to 1959), and I thought maybe the terminology had changed. But no!

Hawaii's the exception. Doesn't that mean North Carolina does have a state police, but they just call it the highway patrol?
