People are saying, once again, that this is the “most important election” of our lifetime. Actually, I believe that 2016 was (and said so numerous times), because if Mrs. Clinton won, THAT would have been the last election.

Because we staved off catastrophe we didn’t notice. Worse, only a few of the bad actors playing the part of “conservative Republican” would have been exposed. Trump exposed a lot more, so the scenarios moving forward will play out differently.

I tend to agree with the sentiments others have brought up about 2016, namely:
Trump wasn't supposed to 'win'.
She was supposed to 'finish' what had been underway arguably since Bush senior, but accelerated under Obama.
She would have had us embroiled in a war in Europe (Russia), but Trump's election interrupted that activity. And when Trump looked into what was going on over there, the Uniparty impeached him and tried to remove him (and you can bet Pence would have picked up the ball and run with it). Notice how quickly we were back utilizing Ukraine as a proxy (as stated by both the likes of Lindsey Graham, McConnell, and even people on this forum).
