(1) The dream was your dream, and yours alone. It is a sleeping vision based on experiences that come only from the world youhave known, so only you can interpret it, your spiritpossibly guided by the Spirit of God. No other "spirit guide" is acceptable, such as the ones(s) whom you have chosen to give you an interpretation. as Gman and ealgeone have hinted. (2) Before going further, I beg you to read through and digest a Bible passage, Job 33:13-33 (c;ick here), paying special attention to verses 15-17 and 33-33, using the Crown-Authorized KJV or the Douay Rheims 1899 versions. And it may well have been, showing you the path to full confidence in the Jesus of the Bible, which confidence only comes from His preached word that acts to give you that birth experience as a new everlasting spiritual entity that Jesus sees as His possession. You can have that experience if you put i practice what Jesus promised to the member of the Sanhedrin, Nicodemus, and later to the men who were determined to kill Him:15In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;(3) With this in mind, it is Jeff Chandler who seems to come close to giving yo some sensible direction, but neither he nor I can tell you what the "black cross" means in the vision you experienced and kept in memory. Only God's Spirit can do that, and He has means to accomplish it.
16Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction,
17That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.32If thou hast anything to say, answer me: speak, for I desire to justify thee.
If thou hast anything to say, answer me: speak, for I desire to justify thee.
32If not, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I shall teach thee wisdom. If not, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I shall teach thee wisdom.(4) But if your trust is in the doctrines of the Roman Catholicism, that does not guarantee that your eternal security is assured by your beliefs, then you cannot have experienced being born as a new everlasting entity in the spiritual realm possessing citizenship in Heaven, and therefore do not have the Holy Spirit permanently dwelling with and guiding your spirit daily, do you? So when it is so important for Him to help you interpret your dream, you need to know if it was Him giving you that vision, eh?
"Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.You have heard what the cross is about, and death is often equated with physical death. But this above is a part of the Golden Key that opens a door, the quality of gold intimating something precious, eh?
Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved" (Jphn 3:3-7,16-17 AV)""Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life" (John 5:24 AV)
It seems to me that you sought out the wrong advisors who are not authorized give you the right information. But the Spirit speaking to you in the Bible is, and it is to Him you ought to go for an interpretation of your vision, I would say.
Joseph interprets dreams of the Cupbearer and the Baker. Genesis 40
Joseph interprets Pharaoh’s dreams. Genesis 41
A soldier interprets the dream of another soldier (Gideon would defeat the Midianites). Judges 7
Daniel interprets Nebuchadnezzar’s dream (five kingdoms). Daniel 2

Thank you for your reply. I take it with much respect. In all my years I never had a dream so vivid or memorable.
