Adams has been mayor for three years.
The indictment remained sealed on Wednesday night, and it was unclear what charge or charges Mr. Adams will face. But when they are made public, he will become the first New York City mayor to be criminally charged while in office.
The indictment promised to reverberate across the nation’s largest city and beyond, plunging Mr. Adams’s embattled administration further into chaos just months before he is set to face challengers in a hotly contested mayoral primary.
Representatives of Mr. Adams and his campaign said they had no immediate comment.
The FBI and federal prosecutors began investigating Adams two years ago, concentrating on his 2021 mayoral campaign.
Adams did not take an oath of omerta. As an ex cop he fears prison. He knows who benefitted from the corruption and the systemic voter fraud. He knows the details. There are many Democrats in New York who are not sleeping well. They know that Adams will rat them out in a microsecond especially to a Trump DOJ if it will keep him out of prison. Similar situation in NJ with Menendez facing sentancing.

As an example, Mayor Michael Bloomberg successfully petitioned the City Council to give him a third term of office, after they'd already limited Rudy Giuliani to only two. Terms of office are usually placed on the ballot as a referendum. It wasn't done when Bloomberg asked the Council to approve his request. It was simply declared by the Council
All Adams did was gripe about the influx of illegals, and he couldn't even bring himself to call them illegals, but spoke of them as migrants. He is just another RAT Mayor who did nothing to make life better for the people of NY City.
