What did the people who organized this think would happen?
---------------
Anarchists want anarchy.

---------------
Government funding & budgets. That's what they're protecting.

For example:

* Jan 2024: New Catholic Charities center to help city’s Haitian population with immigration, jobs
A new Springfield facility that will provide services including help with immigration status applications, legal advocacy and case management, will open this year.... Located at 448 E. High St., it will be operated by Catholic Charities of Southwest Ohio, which has been providing aid in Springfield for about a year and a half, CEO Tony Stieritz said during a Haitian Coalition meeting Wednesday.

* Mar 2023: Clark County life expectancy shorter than state, nation
For example, the health district and its partners are working to address needs unique to every sector of the community, like delivering messaging to Haitian Creole speakers who are new to the community.

* Jan 2023: Springfield Regional welcomes first baby born in 2023: Nouasi family from Haiti welcomes baby girl
Riley is the second child for Elda Felix and Jeremie Nouasi, who already share a son. The Nouasi family is currently in the U.S. for a six-month stay before they will return to their home country of Haiti.

* Sept 2022: Fresh CultureFest in Springfield returns with record number of vendors
With the theme of “Here Comes the Sun,” CultureFest 2022 will have a record number of vendors and reflect the area’s diversity. It takes place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. today in downtown Springfield, and admission is free. It is presented by the City of Springfield Community Development Department with neighborhood and organizational partners.... The CultureFest tradition will continue the namesake of various cultures participating including representatives of the Haitian community for the first time.

* Mar 2022: French-speaking Haitian children in Springfield getting help with English language
Ian MacPhail-Fausey, a 2021 linguistics graduate, has been teaching Haitian children how to speak English in Springfield, which is an area in need of help with their growing Haitian immigrant population, since last fall... In response to this, Springfield hired several ESL teachers throughout the year
