That's what makes Trump and Elon outliers - at some point they decided to tell government to pound sand, and will continually pay a price for doing so.
Trump is getting the shaft, legally speaking. Trump has no leverage he’s just a property developer. Musk has several cards up his sleeve that makes him harder to remove. The military uses his satellites and now Boeing needs his SpaceX to save their astronauts… not to mention his cars play into their EV agenda. And Neuralink shows a lot of promise. All those companies have other billionaire investors so Musk is somewhat protected. They hassle Musk when they can but in many ways he just cannot be a target no matter his political inclinations.
