I guess the question based on your comment would be... is Jones a “public figure”. He hasn’t run for public office that I know of. But he has given the rabid, radical left many headaches. I see this as just one more instance of the Marxist left eliminating their opposition by any means necessary, even if it’s just via lawfare. And I am 100% against it.

The term “public figure” goes way beyond politicians. Of course Alex is a public figure, because he broadcasts to hundreds of thousands. He intentionally “puts himself out there” with performances and opinion pieces.
You and I would not be considered public figures in this context because (I am assuming) we are not intentionally putting our face, voice, and likeness out there for public consumption.
I am sure there are legal terms for all of this. But I believe that is the gist of it.
