This is the live thread dedicated to Hurricane Helene and the people in the path of it. I am one such person, though I am far inland in North Georgia.
News reports state that this is likely to be one of the most explosive hurricanes in hurricane history.
If I cannot participate at some point, that is because my power went out.
I wish everyone good luck, and please stay safe!
Gomex is swimmable in December. We will go to Pass a Grill next time.

Central Florida here…..
….we may be out of its path …..this time
We are praying for you, Laz
My Bible Study group prayed last night for those in its path.
God be with you.
If that’s referring to Ian, it was more than a couple of hours here😊
I know a guy claiming to be an Iranian who is asking around if anyone is looking. Trouble is he ldresses like a Fedboi buyer beware.
Well shoot. Maybe I see you in December!
We lived through 2004——-FOUR hurricanes!
We evacuated twice!
Indeed. It was a rough two years! I installed the hurricane shutters myself...two floors and some 10-foot windows.
All those WINGNUTS! YIKES.
it beats shoveling snow... it’s part of life here...
Are you series?
Prediction: It’s going to hit land hard, then piddle out fast.
I dunno. I’m planning to call into work no matter what. 😁
Several deaths occur across north MS, north AL and TN, and GA every year as Hurricane remnants cross those states.
Flooding usually is not catastrophic away from the coastal zones, but falling trees kill drivers and passengers . Subsequent power outages take longer to recover since crews are spread out fixing local outages, but many have been staged to help the coastal zones get basic power back.
Aye good idea dear sir.
We live in NE Florida just south of Jacksonville. (Go Jags! 0-3...) Anyway we woke up today to a Tropical Storm Warning in effect from 5:12am to 4:15pm today. Just today! What?! It’s a beautiful day here, sunny and 84 degrees at 10:30am....
LAZ: I'll bite. What the hey does this mean?

Sorry about that. It's early here in Colorado and I haven't had any coffee, so I tend to be more ditzy and "random" than usual. I'm producing a documentary about a famous (social media) Mime who works at SeaWorld. Very excited to officially launch it today, but I forgot about the hurricane down there.
One should always have an open and clean mime.
A mime is a terrible thing to waste!
I must ask. During a Zoom (on-line) business meeting with a mime in Orlando, should all attendees mute their microphones?
Or only the ones not speaking when they make their part of the presentation?
/just asking for a fiend (er, friend)
/thinking out of the box
Reily: One should always have an open and clean mime.
Sighhhhh. I had that coming. 😜 I'm going to go retreat behind my invisible glass wall now.
“Someday, I want to see Hurricane Lazamataz.”
“It’s soooo windy it takes the dresses right off the women!”
