100%. You and I experienced the same misery then. Brett kicked Chicago ass thoroughly and very often. I despised him at the time.
In 2013 my best friend died of cancer. He was the biggest Packer fan ever. A couple memories I still have from him is a Brett Favre portrait and a #4 jersey he used to wear at games we used to attend together. Portrait and jersey are both hanging in my house today.
Brett was far and away the best football player I ever saw play. He also loved the USA which is rare in todays "professionals".

And I know he went to the Jets for 10 minutes or so. A friend sent me a Favre Jets Jersey for my collection. Mom wears her ‘Clay Mathews’ jersey on Game Day. I usually wear my 92 Reggie White jersey. (Number retired.) ;) Going to the Vikings was a stab in the heart, so that sticks out for a lot of us.
Really pleased with the two YOUNG QBs that have been playing so far this season. Love should get off IR maybe by this weekend? Malik Willis has done an excellent job these past two weeks for us. He’s been fun to watch. :) I’ve only been to Lambeau Field twice for games, but it is close to a religious experience. ;)
And that’s my layman’s opinion, having gone to games with my Dad & Grandpa since I was a toddler. I grew up in Milwaukee and before the permanent move to Lambeau Field in 1994 they played at both fields. Brown County Stadium* was about 15 minutes from our house. So many good memories there of The Packers and The Milwaukee Braves/Brewers, too. :)
*It’s now American Family Insurance something or other. Previously Miller Field. Beer Town, USA.
My nephew does sideline commentary for a radio station that broadcasts games there. He knew Farve personally and Farve wanted to quit..end it. But fans and other players hounded him continuously to stay, as well as his agent.
He watched as Farve went downhill slowly till they simply had to release him or trade.
My niece and her husband are part owners in one of the boxes there. They go to as many games as they can or simply rent out their seats to others.
The whole dam NFL has become nothing but a money hole. Although GB, is one of the teams that actually care a bit for their players, money talks and bullshit walks.
I went back to watching baseball. Can’t wait till the “A’s” get to Las Vegas.
A person can still get game tickets at a reasonable price at a baseball game.
My Mom, 87 this month, is a total Baseball Geek. She loves her Brewers. Sis is taking her to a game on the 29th for her b-day. I’ll always be a football fan - I ignore all the BS. Just play ball! :)
We also like HS Football and Wrestling, so we’re at the local games a lot in the fall and winter months watching the Grandkids of friends and our nieces and nephews and neighbor kids.
Got to see the Brewers play when I lived south of San Diego; a co-worker had tickets and she thought it would be a lot of fun for us to see our home team out there. That was a very nice thing for her to do. I don’t remember if we won or lost, but it was a fun day. :)
Thing about a baseball games is..it can be a family outing. Game is a bit slow ya visit with everybody around.
Game gets exciting everybody gets interested in the game.
Last game I went to in Milwaukee was a double header between the Braves and the Phillys. Watched Warren Spahn pitch in one and can’t remember the other. Watched Henry Aaron hit one out as well as Joe Adcock.
Have gone to a few minor league games since but not lately. Out here, the games are a tad bit warm to attend. We’ll wait till the As get to Vegas. Air conditioned stadium.
If I live that long. Used to live and breath baseball. My dad played against the old Chicago “black” Sox, Joe Jackson etc, in spring exhibition games they used to have back then.
Said Joe Jackson had the easiest natural swing he ever saw in the game of baseball.
The most exciting play in baseball to me is stealing home or the double steal.
Umpires are my favorite person on the field. Especially when the SHTF.

This time rule between pitches needs to go. Like one retired ump said, it used to be a minute or so between innings. Now is 3 or more. Cut that back and the game shortens.

The data is inconclusive.
There’s more retired players who don’t have CTE than do.
Farve also has a history of drug and alcohol abuse. As did other players who came down with this disorder.
This maybe a case where the data is used to press an agenda.

They will eventually develop CTE as they get older. If they do not get it, there are variables to consider. They may not have played football for a long period of time. Perhaps they're a punter or a kicker. Or even a QB if they did not get too many sacks.
If we’re lucky to live long enough, we’ll all eventually develop some kind of brain disorder.
Unfortunately in my family the females seem to inherit dementia (or Alzheimer’s, I can’t remember)
My great grandmother had it, her daughter, my great aunt had it,candy two of her daughters(my cousins) has the genetic marker for it.
But getting back to CTE, unless there’s autopsies in a wider sample of players, this will remain unclear.
But to be clear banging one’s head repeating against a hard object ain’t good for one, generally speaking!
But my Granny didn’t get this market because she resemble her father.
My mother didn’t get it because she favored her father’s family and she would have lived longer than the 80 yrs she did if she didn’t smoke(COPD)
I favor Mom but I don’t smoke or drink(much) so I might live lover than anybody the males in either side of my family(the men died off either because of drink, smoking or eating)

That's possible. Never-the-less, people age in different ways at different rates. What role his self-admitted years of abusing alcohol, opioids and who knows what else never seem to receive consideration.
Nice. I saw Roberto Clemente on Roberto Clemente night at the old Forbes Field in Pittsburgh when I was about 10. He threw a guy out going 1st to 3rd. Naturally.
That time was another golden age for baseball.
I met Tony Kubeck and Clete Boyer. We had a retired Major league umpire who bought a tavern up by us. He called all the local weekly town team baseball games and would invite retired major league ball players to come up.
That was from about 1960 to about 1965 or so.
