It is curious but I am surprised they didn’t make up a better excuse for the passengers.
I’m only speculating, but maybe something happened that the pilot and he decided to cancel the flight. Say if the pilots wife had a miscarriage or some such. Whatever it was, the crew said they were headed back home.
just a taste of corporate tyranny (ie fascism).
