It was really a master stroke for Trump to double down on that. The housing, employment, social services and traffic problems there were of no interest to the MSM or the Dems. But cats, dogs, ducks? Suddenly everyone’s going to Springfield, if only to disprove Trump, and the people there are finally on the public radar. Maybe they’re eating, or sacrificing, or just wantonly killing animals. Maybe not. But the pathologies in small towns like Springfield are present in small and medium-sized cities all over the US, and the people don’t deserve to be ignored. That IS a burning issue this election cycle, and it’s now front and center. Unlike the leftards, Trump really does care about people, and he proved it with the multiple memes making fun of him, and the town hall meetings in Springfield.
