A teenage girl slammed the Wake County Public School System during a board meeting on Tuesday and announced her departure from the school district after she was forced to read graphic sexual material in her English class.
During a Tuesday Wake County Board of Education meeting, a 10th-grade student recounted her move to North Carolina just three months ago. She enrolled in Athens Drive Magnet High School and told the board that she was very excited about the opportunity, until last Friday when her teacher assigned the class to read a story independently.
“There was a part in this story that made me feel very uncomfortable, and I looked around and saw the same expression on other students’ faces,” she said, reading the story aloud.
The story centered around two cousins and used vulgar language depicting sexual acts. The excerpt appears to be from “Tomorrow is too far” by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. The 15-year-old girl read the description to the Board:

The class then came back together to discuss the reading and answer questions. The student said during her public testimony that she went home that day and told her parents, who were “as outraged as I was,” she said.
“I should not have graphic, incestual, sexual content taught to me in my classes,” she stated. “I am deeply bothered and deeply disappointed. I have decided to leave Athens Drive High School because I should not have to deal with pornographic, incestual, sexual conduct taught to me in my classes.”
“Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
Why is it always a foreign born a**hole “writer” or “teacher” or “judge” causing the problems?”
.
.
Causing problems in the PRINT MEDIA, too.
PARENTS.....GET YOUR KIDS OUT OF PUBLIC SCHOOLS!!
“it would infer that she had sex.”
Imply. People watching would infer.

Thank you. As Professor Henry Higgins would say, “Why can’t the English learn how to speak?” We can’ even use the amazing English language, the language of freedom, correctly.
Aside from the obvious, the thing that outrages me about these pornographic reading assignments is that these are very likely working on naive, inexperienced, and moldable minds. Whatever kink is being written and read about has a very good chance of imprinting on the child’s psyche and becoming a fetish of theirs.
Their hormones are in raging in top gear at these ages, anything can set them up to go exploring.
Not to mention the more they go exploring, the more baby parts for Planned Abortionhood to sell. I call public schools “fetus farms”, because they are.
I read somewhere that these porn assignments are raping the child’s mind. I think that is horrifically accurate.
I hope you are wrong. Children deserve their innocence. They deserve to be taught morality by their parents, facts about anatomy & function in school, and they deserve the joy and excitement of discovering about love & intimacy when they are mature enough to understand the commitment.
No serious person spends that much time, attention and $ on their hair.
I have come around to the position that the public school system is evil and must be destroyed.

Nothing really wrong with GED. I have been to the GED graduations & they get their diploma just like anyone else. Come to think of it...in all my working days, nobody ever asked to see my high school diploma. They may ask if you graduate; don’t know if it is ever actually checked out. I DID graduate, but could I prove it? As I can’t find my diploma any more....that was “a long time ago” as Waylon Jennings says in one of his songs.
xshe has fortitude to speak out like that
Is that the so-called “teacher” who came up with the ‘reading assignment”?
Author of the porn.
Oh ...
When I saw the name, I read it as: “Chimichanga Nazi I’d-be-itchy”. This thing is sick.
Joost Merlow, a Dutch psychiatrist, describes what you described, as “rape of the mind.”
LOL, I LOVE your tagline!!! :-)
