Pure Project doesn’t come up on a lot of lists, great little brewery. Besides them, I have been to Russian River and Great Notion. I have had Pliny the Younger once, but I understand it is much easier to find now, just not in Texas. I highly recommend all three.

During travels in Washington and Oregon were many great breweries. Those damn aging hippies know how to make a good brew. I do not like their politics but I do like their beer. Oddly the best brew I sampled was up in Alberta. It was an IPA made with rye. It was outstanding.

Here in Central Texas in Salado, we have Barrows Brewery. They make an IPA that would be very acceptable in any English Pub. “Evil Catfish” is their premier IPA. It is very good. The brewery is located in an old tin gin. It was perfect for setting up all their brewing equipment. The local supermarkets even carry their beer. Good beer sells!

I see most are in liberal shxtholes so I wouldn’t go anyway. I find the local out of the way breweries the best. The smaller the better.
