Some inadvertent truth is leaking out. Yes, the United States came into being because our forefathers were willing to fight. Literally to fight. First it was discussion and writing. Then protests, to which the King's troops responded in violence. Then the protests became more violent including the tarring and feathering of government officials and burning their homes. Then finally when the king and his minions decided to disarm the people, we responded with deadly violence with the best of military assault weapons of the time (muskets, cannons and "sniper" rifles). The freedom to be safe from gun violence came after the Battle of Yorktown and the Treaty of Paris.
Excellent points.
Matt Walsh is incisive when he mentions that Harris in this bent soliloquy lied that our forefathers and the founders of our country prized three things that they most certainly did not prize or fight for: abortion, gay marriage and gun confiscation.
To that This guy would add (not sure why Walsh failed to come up with the following, which given the current public conversation is clearly included in this language “the ideals of who we are, which includes freedom to make decisions about your own body... freedom to be who you are”:
Male and female (including child) genital mutilation.
More stuff our founders were certainly not concerned with, and moreover would have been utterly repulsed by.
I do not think she means what we think that should mean. To a Democrat, that means having access to dig around in the ballot box, "cure" Democrat ineligible ballots or add entirely false ones, invent excuses to eliminate Republican ballots, etc.
