From Apple Support online...

"Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! That's a great question you have about what will happen if you cancel your Apple Music subscription. Once your Apple Music subscription is canceled you will lose access to the playlists you created and any music you've downloaded. Also, your music and playlists would not return if you decide to sign up for Apple Music again in the future. However, you will have access to it until the day your subscription officially ends and your purchased music would not be affected. "

My question answered.

Your “non-Apple Music” playlists/music files shouldn’t be affected tho. (After Apple Music sub. ends) Am not an Apple Music subscriber since I had it briefly for 3 months as a promo with a new Apple device, but it didn’t affect my old existing playlists/ripped music files in my “ iTunes” (iTunes has been gone for Mac users for awhile...now the Mac music App is just called “Music” (not to be confused with the “Apple Music subscription”)...the program is still called “iTunes” on Windows I guess.
