Children in public places are allowed to behave in ways that would have been unthinkable when I was a child. It’s not the child’s fault it is the parent’s.

Mr mm and I had to stop for lunch on a trip once with our small kids, all un der 7.
We got a table in an almost empty room where there was one older couple eating. They kind of rolled their eyes and sighed when we came in and looked resigned to having their meal ruined.
But we raised our kids to know how to behave in public and at restaurants and I made it very clear to them that if they wanted to continue to eat out, which was a treat, they'd better behave or no more.
By the time the other couple left, they came over and complemented us on how well behaved the kids were.
Crying kids especially babies, on planes can't usually be helped especially if the cause is the change in pressure on the ear drum causing pain. It can be excruciating.
If it's just spoiled brats, I have no patience.
