Isn’t unanimous only for capital crimes?

Unanimous verdicts are required for any trial in which the defendant is in danger of losing life or liberty.

Civil trials (where you only pay damages, i.e., money) don't require a unanimous verdict.

But if a defendant is facing prison (loss of liberty), then yes, a unanimous verdict is required.
