Self-driving vehicles do not have to be perfect.
They only have to be better than the average human driver.
It appears some of the software/sensor and vehicle combinations have already achieved that standard.

Self-driving vehicles do not have to be perfect. They only have to be better than the average human driver. I have over a million miles under my wheels, some in the most difficult driving environments imaginable. Zero accidents.
Show me an automated system that can achieve that kind of record.
