If I was a judge I would have to let most murderers out based on them being mentally incompetent.

They were driving drunk and hit a pedestrian - that’s crazy!
They were stealing $20 and shot the victim - that’s crazy!
They got in an argument with the tenant upstairs and killed them - that’s crazy!

Well, it's a good thing you're not a judge then because none of your examples have anything to do with competency to stand trial.

Someone on the comments board on X said they were in the mental health field.
(For what that’s worth).

They said from what they have seen on previous cases her story will likely go like this: put in a hospital for the insane and become medicated, stay there for 2-4 years, get out on supervision, after a few months her care will be relaxed, she will wean herself off the meds, go back to unstable behavior, commit another violent act.

Which is why I always had the opinion being criminally insane isn’t a reason to let people put,, it’s a reason to lock them up and throw the key away.
