There are great videos on youtube of an airport somewhere in the Caribbean that's right on the beach. Some of them show people hanging on to a fence *very* close to the runway while a 747 powers up its engines for takeoff.

You see people flying off the fence like so many sheets of paper caught in a tornado. Great stuff.
