The author has some valid points. Roy Cooper, NC, would have been perfect. He is term-limited, but he is popular enough to carry NC for the ticket, maybe. He would have appeared sane next to Harris. Newsome has too much baggage right now. He must fade away and move to the center before 2028. Newsome cannot wait until he is nominated to go to the center. The country knows how badly he screwed up California. Josh Shapiro is a wild card; he is articulate and clever in an evil sort of way, and he would also appear sane compared to Harris. But he is a Jew. A liberal Jew in the same vein as Rahm Emmanuel and his brother, both of whom would have been at home in the Judenrate and Sonndercommandos of WWII. If we have learned anything since 7 Oct 2023, sadly, anti-semitism runs deep in this country. Although he would have possibly brought PA, he would have lost MI. That leaves Whitmer in Michigan. She also has a lot of COVID baggage and needs to let it fade from public memory. Against Trump, it is not sure she could have carried Michigan.

Therein lies the real problem. All of the top RATs want to avoid losing to Trump, especially in their own States. That would hurt them politically. If Trump wins, he has one term. Two years into another Trump Presidency, he would be a lame duck. They would prefer to run against a JD Vance in 2028. By then, a Newsome & Cooper or Newsome & Whitmer would be a strong ticket. Josh Shapiro will never be on a Presidential ticket.

They had to find someone who would not overshadow Harris and who, if he loses, is no harm, no foul. This is the pinnacle of Waltz's career; I am not sure he could win as Governor again in MN. I wonder if the RAT shadow government under Obama wants Harris to win. The stronger RAT candidates would be sidelined until 2036 or later. Obama may prefer people he can manipulate. But Obama and the RAT Oligarchy control the money and votes so any RAT candidate would follow Obama's orders.
