"Do you long for the days when MTV still played music videos?"

My sons watched MTV in the 80's, not me. I watched American Bandstand in the 60's.

80s girls had the greatest hair ever. Ever! I can agree with your shot at mullets, but not at the ladies. They looked fantastic.

31) Some rock bands still practiced their backup vocals.

Communist fighting mercenaries and the Survivalist movement were at their peak in America, and they never get mentioned.

Houston even had a huge survivalist themed night club all camo and such and there were many magazines on the two topics.

The 1980s saw the birth of the original Apple Macintosh computer.

That got me into using computers for the first time, and powered my university research and teaching career!

Two things I didn’t like about the 1980s were the awful pop music and the “cubist” fad in automobile design that resulted in ugly cars that looked like they were made from boxes.

When I think of the 1980s, shoulder pads, come to mind. In all the tops and dresses. I generally liked how they looked, but I did not like having to reposition them Every time I wore them.

super bowl shuffle...Bears just lost to Miami and had 3 games left in the season plus the playoffs when this was released.

Other than that and some other things - like big hair, large hoop earrings and 5 inch CFM heels, the 80s are mystery to me.

Mrs. T and I were married in ‘81. Our two daughters were born in’83 and ‘87. Lost my Mom in ‘86.

It was quite the decade…
