Mother Nature knows solar panels are best used in sunny areas like Egypt, southern California, Arizona and Florida.
I bet she is happy with he tax credit.
I am not. Despite it being paid for by the ‘Inflation Reduction Act’ that tax credit is inflationary.
Also it is very likely that her solar panels are made in communist China that is very agressively expansionist.
Her solar panels are going to be very inefficient“We are super super happy that the federal tax credit was available to us and it enabled us to do this job. For our kids’ future, for Michigan’s future, for the future of our country and the planet.”
Her solar panels will be very inefficient in winter and useless at night.
The article says that the panels were installed ‘on her home’ this means most likely on the roof. This is unfortunate for a senior citizen because solar panels require cleaning on a regular basis to maintain best efficiency. It also means that the panels probably have a fixed mounting and can not follow that sun for maximum efficiency.
For anyone living at her latitude, solar panels are probably a net loss and unless energy prices rise a lot she will most likely be dead before they pay for themselves.
They may benefit her if there is a power outage and she invest in a battery pack.
But I would have advised agains this.
