I just didn’t get as excited about this space venture as others. ...like viewing the landscape of Mars. I can however appreciate others interest in it.
I was excited by the commercial aspect. It was quite clever to use two South Korean astronauts and let South Korea foot a lot of the bill and technical work. They need a vast amount of initial money to develop a reusable system and national prestige has shown it works as a money initiator.
Also Musk. The more I hear about the man, the more impressed I am. Vision is an impressive trait and I’ve never seen it tied to money before. The combination is mindboggling. I hope he has SO many more children in his lifetime. Those genes should be spread far and wide.
I always thought of living during the lifetime of Trump as living during the lifetime of Washington. I spent one entire year of my life studying newspaper microfilm sent me by the NY Albany library from the 1770s to 1830. I scanned microfilm from the moment of my waking to the moment of my falling asleep. Husband got me an enormous microfilm reader that tied directly into the computer. I LIVED in the time when George Washington was spoken of in the present tense.
Today was the first time I recognized that I’ve now also lived in the time of Musk, as my grandfather lived in the time of Edison. Actually, grandpa worked for Edison. He was a signal inventor and was called to Edison’s NJ lab to teach Edison about signals. I sat on his lap and listened to his story of sleeping on a cot in the lab for a week while Edison would awaken him with yet another question. At the end of the week, grandpa was drained and Edison knew everything about signals.
