If you are an MS Word user, you can use Replace with Wildcards tool to do some sophisticated matching and replacing. It takes a bit of learning, but isn’t hard to master. So you can paste all the text into a word document and, with one click, make all the needed changes. You can save your Find/Replace codes for future use, too.

MS uses a simplified “Regular Expressions” (or “RegEx”) approach to finding and replacing text.

I have OpenOffice and Libre.

I’ll have to check their word processors to see if those tools exist.
