I spent twenty five years in law enforcement. Those cops, particularly the one with what looked like hand tattoos. A simple polite “Sir, please keep you window rolled down”…would have deescalated the whole thing. That man should not be a cop.
Rolling a tinted window up on a cop is asking to get your ass kicked.
i doubt it. Politeness doesn’t work with a group of people who are offended by anything that doesn’t match up with their massive sense of entitlementl
In what capacity did you serve those 25 years in law enforcement, was it spent in a high crime area or some place a bit more tame?
There is no way of knowing for sure that a simple polite request would have deescalated the situation.
The cop was a bit gruff in his manner but that is no excuse for non-compliance. The driver brought that upon himself. He was conducting a valid traffic stop of a speeding vehicle with windows that were heavily tinted. The driver rolled up the window, now their ability to communicate with the traffic violator, or see what he is doing inside the passenger compartment is hampered, causing an unsafe condition for the officers. The lead officer requested he roll the window down, what more is he supposed to do get down on his knees and plead?
Leftists are trying to neuter the police and turn them into warm and fuzzy punching bags, don’t fall for it.
He was told to roll the window down and did not. The only deescalation the cop could have done would have been to allow the guy to disobey a lawful order.
Honestly, as a cop (I assume that is what you meant by “in law enforcement”) if someone treated you like that, and told you how the traffic stop was going, and that they were not going to roll down their window when you told them to, and began barking orders at you, you would not have tried at all to assert some control over where the stop was going?
