Yes, there is something to be said for calling rather than texting. However, if your calls are like many of mine (both solicited & unsolicited) have been, texting or e-mail might be the only good answer. Too many times I have been on calls with people that you cannot understand on the phone. Maybe they use good English, but they either speak too fast or there is a foreign accent problem. If companies can’t hire anyone who is competent on the phone, they must expect problems to arise from misunderstandings, etc.
Me too. I’m technically a corporate employee, although I work from home or the drivers seat. The real corporate people use teams for absolutely everything. I use it so rarely I need to figure out how to log in each time.
I despise it.
I grew up with landlines, as a teen not allowed to use it. So never developed the habit. My boys use their cells for everything.
I carry one, but being hearing impaired like TXT best.Accents, voices to low, Recorded voices are not hearable/understanable.
I read news more.
Same here I love having the ability to text I’ve always been better at writing and I’ve always hated talking on the phone.
I get texts from my family all the time.
My son in law fixes, restores and sells old cars. He sent me a text today with a picture of a nice car with minor front end damage that he can easily fix. He got it for $300 from an estate. He also sent pics - before and after - of his aunt’s SUV that was hit by a school bus. The after pics are amazing.
My daughter in law sent pictures of my beautiful 9 month old granddaughter in her sun dress out for a wagon ride.
I dare the phone call only FReepers to tell me how this would be done by a phone call.
It’s amazing that this has to be explained to the cyber generations. Ask any mother whether she would rather get a text or a voice call from her grown children.
I am a mother and grandmother...I love the texts I get...with pics, especially. I did NOT get the “phone gene.”
Lol. Problem solved!
