Condit’s father had a long history as a womanizer in DC. The son could be one too. The father, Gary, had a lot of power at one point. He was on the House Intelligence committee and you don’t get on that committee without strong party support. During the Lewinski scandal Condit broke with the Dems and and demanded that Clinton admit to the affair. Soon after Condit saw the consequences. You don’t have to kill your enemy you just have to expose him doing something he has already been suspected of doing before, e.g., Ted Kennedy, John Jr.
