British invasions, then and now
American Thinker ^ | 8 Sep, 2024 | Eric Utter

Remember the “British Invasion?” It occurred in the 1960s (and 1970s) when bands like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Animals, The Kinks, The Hollies, The Moody Blues, Herman's Hermits, Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd, Queen, Led Zeppelin, ELO, Elton John, Spandau Ballet, The Specials, The Police -- and many others — became wildly successful in the United States.

Can you name me a wildly popular British band today? (Okay, other than The Rolling Stones, led by Mick Jagger, aged 81.)

Crickets.

There is a reason for this, albeit a sad one. Britain is spent. Its society is in decay. It has lost its toughness, its confidence, and its creative excellence. A kind of benign snobbery has been replaced by an ennui and world-weariness more suitable to the French.

The notions of free speech and individual rights are in tatters. Britain is the victim of another kind of invasion and is being effectively annexed by mass migration from Muslim lands. The vast majority of these immigrants are unable and unwilling to assimilate to British culture, odd for people fleeing violence and depredation. They are, in fact, demanding that England — and the English — assimilate to them.

Remarkably, many Brits appear willing to do just that.

In which case, music may eventually be banned in (formerly) Jolly Olde England. An England that is undeniably old, but increasingly less jolly.

Assimilating into the invader culture is destruction of the native culture. It is sad to see and it is happening in the USA too.

BTW, the invaders aren’t the cause.

They’re just the useful idiots.

The UK has a Deep State, too.

What it doesn’t have, and desperately needs, is a Trump.

Diversity kills.

Just think. Our open border - endless 3rd world legal and illegal “immigration” and “refugee” dumping policy was crafted by insane drunken tyrants LBJ and Ted Kennedy. The most liberal of all libtards. A policy that not even the most conservative will now question. It’s a third rail of politics. Most people just assume that America has always been a dumping ground with open borders, but that simply isn’t true. The constitution was designed to secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity - not to hand everything away on a silver platter to foreign peoples.

McCarthy and Jagger hate Trump. They don’t seem concerned with the situation in Britain.

England was (ostensibly) a Christian nation and was blessed as a result. Their blessings came from God, through Christ.

They abandoned Christ and thus, abandoned God. Man has no God unless man worships Christ.

Now, God is using the same demographic of mongrels that He used to punish the Jews (when they abandoned God) to punish Britain.

Josh 23:11-13: Take good heed therefore unto yourselves, that ye love the LORD your God. Else if ye do in any wise go back, and cleave unto the remnant of these nations, even these that remain among you, and shall make marriages with them, and go in unto them, and they to you: Know for a certainty that the LORD your God will no more drive out any of these nations from before you; but they shall be snares and traps unto you, and scourges in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until ye perish from off this good land which the LORD your God hath given you.

And, yes, this is what is happening to America for all the same reasons. "He that ignores history is doomed.........." Only a fool could miss the connection.

The US is facing the upcoming double war - with the left and Islam.
Europe has both of those, with the added problem of Russia.
Thanks, Biden, you piss poor excuse for a human being.

+++++++++++

How about an American band that fits your above criteria? Music in the modern era is garbage. We got rap and taylor swift.

I grew up with The Beatles who changed R&R, culture & studio technology unlike any other band.

Abandoned live concerts and became the first “Studio only Rock group” beginning with Rubber Soul.

That said, musically I preferred The Yardbirds even not knowing the lead guitarists in the band.

Eric Clapner, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck...and the latter was arguably the best of that trio.

The decline of the music industry is for many reasons.

My father and brother both played the piano.

Before radio boomed in the 1920s, if you wanted music in your house someone had to play an instrument.

The lack of interest in classical music in the current era. Classical music set quality standards at a high level.

The lack of professional development managers that would develop musicians and steer them into producing 45RPM records that people would buy instead of a hamburger. Think Barry Gordy and George Martin.

The disappearance of mom & pop radio stations and Payola. Slipping money to a DJ allowed new music a chance to get heard.

Another factor is urban rents. I suspect 1960s San Francisco and London were far more affordable.

Yet another factor is diversity. Radio allowed black and white musicians to build upon each other’s efforts.

Barry Gordy brought the Hollywood management style to the music industry.

Pop/Rock Music has reached the Maturity Phase, as with Classical Music.

Who listens to new symphonies? People listen to Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, etc.

And now people listen to The Beatles, Rolling Stones, and all the classic pop/rock from the 60s 70s and 80s. Everything that has come since then is merely a derivative.

Apparently, the Brits caught the French flu: self-loathing of themselves and their culture. ByeBye!

“immigration”

In the old days getting to the USA was an expensive thing to do.

The cost of Transatlantic steerage acted as a filter.

In the United States, this is a matter of common sense and preserving our great nation’s identity and values. This country was built on the principles of freedom and individual liberty. We welcome those who come to our shores seeking a better life, but we must also ensure that they embrace the values that make this country exceptional.

It is only right and fair that immigrants, when they choose to make America their home, should adapt to our way of life, our culture, and our traditions. After all, it is the responsibility of newcomers to respect and honor the customs of the land they wish to be a part of. We cannot allow a situation where immigrants dictate the terms and expect native-born citizens to change their own culture to accommodate them.

Self-loathing is I believe primarily an American Jewish thing. It can spread to higher-income Gentiles too.

Many Jews believe in reflecting on one’s lifestyle. This is often overdone.

Christians often use Jesus as a guide and they look to him and his wisdom instead of blaming themselves.

In other words, in many cases, Christians look to do better, American Jews look to blame themselves.

Immigration is now primary used to build leftist political power instead of improving the nation’s skill base.

Immigration has been changed from a blessing into a curse.

In most cases nowadays, immigration no longer enriches, it impoverishes.

The Refugee Convention and chain migration by law have set aside the quality control of immigration.
