If you are (biologically) male and you live long enough, this will be you.
I had a prostate biopsy a few years back. In hindsight, it was the worst thing I could do, especially since my scans showed no evidence of anything but BPH. Things down there have never worked right since. And I have a concern about piercing the capsule of any organ and what the downstream (NPI) consequences would be.
As a prostate cancer survivor my experience is that there is none.
God bless
As my dad used to say, “I HATE going to the doctor. They always find something wrong with me...” :-)
I rang that bell - he can too...
I think he was looking for the sarcastic "brown" ribbon.
Yeah--it's like a 98% survival rate these days.
The worst part is not the cancer, or the treatment.
The worst part is the side effects of the treatment.
Yes ... and the finger. My husband's PSAs were normal but the doctor felt a very slight difference in the prostrate. Biopsy showed cancer. Still encapsulated within the prostate but it was there.
Long story short, he had the surgery (look up the DaVinci robot), they removed it with all the nerves intact, and everything is great.

Same experience. Also ended up in the ER for 8 hours getting antibiotics through every orifice available due to the procedure causing an infection. On track to have to do it again. And now they want to do an MRI first so they can get a sample from any suspicious area shown on the MRI. Great. Getting old sucks.
Apparently you watched Seinfeld. 😂
